Anybody know where to get heavy duty axis springs or is that a bad idea?

Why do you want to make your knife harder to operate?

tinkering, maintenance or bored are all good nuff reasons for "if it isn't broke don't fix it."
After market, direct from Benchmade by sending in knife, or make your own "omega springs" from "memory" wire or piano wire. From memory, none of mine have broken, Adamas spring is thicker gauge then 940. I have piano wire from something like 20 to 25 gauge for bugout thru Adamas.
People here have reported stronger pulls from after market omega springs then stock. Also lube wire if it shows that it rides against scales. They do rub to a lesser or greater extent. Some scales are thick enough that carving out area to store an extra spring inside each scale would be easy enough.
