A friend of mine owns a holster manufacturing shop in my area and he swears that people demand very thin leather to ensure the lowest profile possible when carrying a sheath. When it comes to folder sheaths do you prefer lighter weight leather or heavy weight leather?
I make my folder sheaths out of 8-9 oz shoulder leather, but I am about to pick up a few more rolls and I'm contemplating going with the lighter weight leathers out there. My gut feeling and personal preference is for a heavy duty sheath, but I'm curious to see what other folks prefer.
