Hi,

What are your experiences with this knife and do you think it will become a grail or collectable, sought after knife in the future?

It seems to be one of the last H&K knifes that are available. Is the Benchmade H&K going to become a discontinued model?

Thank You.

This knife, IMO, should never have been offered to us as a Benchmade. Very cheaply constructed, with thick plastic handle scales and without liners, at a price point of less than $50 delivered, it hits the margin that some won't pay more for and so fits a role. It's good for backup, toss one in the job box, but a dealer I know here in California bought a large number of these and couldn't sell a single one. Once you have a 710 or 950, or even a better comparison, the (brilliant) HK marked 14205, you will see what I mean. But If you're on a budget, this is backed by LifeSharp and under full warranty.

And the direct opine reqarding value as a collectable, there isn't any. There are better knives to put away that will hold if not increase in value, just not this one.

Is the Sodat made in the U.S.A. ? I looked at the blade steel and have never heard of it before.

Do you fell the same way about the Benchmade Heckler & Koch Enigma Folding Knife Black Plain Blade, Nylon Handles

The Soldat is USA-made. N680 is a good corrosion-resistant steel and would compare it to 440C for ease of sharpening. It's all in the heat treat, which coming from Benchmade would be a blade you could trust. On the current line of HK knives, with exception to a couple of models that remain, like the HK Nitrous Blitz, I do feel the same way. There are better buys elsewhere.

Thank You for the info. I sent you a email asking about a few things. Maybe I should have started a new thread
