It's coming! It's coming tomorrow! It's in the UPS facility in the next town over right now!

My first Sebenza! A small 21 to be precise. I'm going to try to go home early so I can open up this fine piece of artwork. Tomorrow will be a good day!

Congrats! There is nothing like the first wait for a new CRK in the mail! Make sure you *cough cough* leave work early because you aren't feeling too good. :p

Congrats of your first sebenza. Cant wait to see pics and hear your thoughts !!!

Congrats on your first purchase. I warn you though, Sebenza's are kind of like the Lay's Potato Chip Ads. With Lay's Potato Chips you can't eat just one. With Chris Reeve Knives, You can't just have one! Trust me I know!!!

Greetings Darth Detori:
As a new Sebenza owner you should prepare for several, of many things, to occur.

You will be pleased and impressed.

You may initially feel "underwhelmed". If so, this most often progressively changes to feelings of quiet appreciation, educated admiration and pride of ownership with time and use.

Your thumb will become sore from playing with your new knife. Tell yourself that you are "working it in".

Your facial muscles may become sore from a period of protracted smiling. Try whistling. It will hide the grin.

You will begin to examine the pros and cons of keeping or removing the lanyard. Resolve to try both.

You will start contemplating your next CRK acquisition. This is usually inescapable. Quality is addicting.

I've already starting contemplating it, lol. Probably a Large or an Umnumzaan.

It's crazy how many reviews I've watched and read, and how many posts and threads I've gone over. I'm ready!

Here she is! Ain't she a beauty? Complete with the new bushings and everything. Sorry for the phone pics, but a pic of a sebenza with any quality camera is a high quality thing!

I switched all the screws around- I think it looks a little bit better this way. Damn those things are shiny! Took the lanyard off too- it just wasn't for me, but I kept the lanyard pin in and MAN it looks great! That color blue really gives it this royal, classy look. I love how polished the spine of the blade is, yet the stonewash finish on the sides gives it this slick meant-to-be-used appearance as well, and it's fantastic at hiding fingerprints (just can't stop touching it!). I haven't quite gotten the oiled glass feel yet but I'll be damned if I'm not spending every second in which my hand is free opening and closing this beauty.

There's something amazingly satisfying in those last few millimeters in which the blade closes. Every time I close it I feel like I just did something incredibly awesome. I have such an incredible sense of security with this knife. I can't help but smile every time I look at it. It looks so sick just protruding slightly out of my pocket, the blue anodized spacer telling those looking "yeah, I'm a nice knife".

She fits in my hand perfectly as well. I'm a Spyderco guy so I love knives with great ergonomics. While this thing doesn't look ergonomic, I feel that it fits in my hand perfectly. My pinky isn't falling off the edge and my fingers aren't crowded together to make that happen. My thumb rests precisely upon the jimping, which isn't so aggressive that it's going to lock your thumb in if you don't want it, but it'll hold you when you want it to. I just plain flat-out feel like I'm holding something that I'm not worthy of, but it's mine anyway, and no-one else can have it.

Now will someone find me something to cut already?!?

Just be prepared to have your thumb sore for the next few days... We call that the CRK thumb :D

I saw that picture earlier... good god! Yeah, my thumb is already sore. Basically every waking moment when I'm alone I'm playing with my sebenza. I'm going to go blind ;)

Resolve to not just sit there opening and closing it contently. It's like taking your new BMW and sitting there in the driveway getting in and out. :p

Just carry it and be comforted in the fact that you will get to open and close it when you have to use it. The solution is to find more things to use it for! :)

I have a tendency to play with my knives quite a bit. I constantly need something to fidget with and I find knives are perfect for just that. Plus I want to break this baby in to a point where I get that oiled glass feel.

Congrats on a great knife, it'll serve you well. Now when is the next one coming.:D
