Heimrick Armeor quality?

I was searching for a 16th century Scottish basket-hilt and found a version by Heimrick at:

Has anyone had any experience with this maker?
Does anyone know of another version of the weapon under $500?

I would love to get the Armor Class piece, but I am not ready to spend $800. I have seen similar pieces at Darkwood and Kirby Wise, but getting a quote has been problematic.

It all depends on what you want the sword for but from what I hear Hiemrick's stuff is substantially on the heavy side. I haven't seen any of it myself but a guy that used to post over at Sword Forum had one and ended up selling it.
