So today I finally pick up my package from the post office today because I missed the postman by 15 minutes yesterday. I open the package right away in the car because I knew what goodness was waiting for me. To anyone that does not own a Para2 yet I suggest you pick one up right now or put it on your short list. It felt great in the hand, opened with a fluid like motion and just looked BA!! My excitement however came to a halt as I inspected the blade further. The edge was completely uneven . It looked like someone sneezed while they were sharpening it. I quickly called the customer service center up and they gave me a return authorization without trouble. I then got back out of the car and promptly walked back into the post office and sent the knife right back :( So in the few minutes that were spent fondling the Para2 I now know why this knife is always highly recommended. I'm happy I finally convinced myself to pick it up, but just have to wait a few more days until I get my replacement.

Re-beveling it could have fixed your problem without needing to be without your knife for a few days. I've always felt the urge to "fix" factory bevels, regardless of how well done, on my knives.

I hope it works out for you though! I'm glad to hear that customer service was a breeze to deal with.

Thanks! I should have snapped a pic before I packed it back up to show how nasty it looked. I thought about attempting to fix it, but my only sharpening device right now is the "sharp keeper" with just the med, fine and UF stones. I have been meaning to pick up an EP, but my funds always go to other things.

For me, uneven bevels aren't really an issue since I almost always re-bevel immediately. The M390 Military being the exception since it was already ridiculously sharp and evenly beveled.

If you can get around to it, try picking up an extra coarse and a coarse DMT diamond stone (the ones I use cost about $25 a piece). It makes re-beveling much easier, and free-handing on them isn't too difficult to figure out.
