Thank you! After reading of cattledog's nightmarish experience with Helko's customer service and draconian warranty restrictions, I believe I'll pass. Although Helko eventually stepped up and took care of cattledog, the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth.
I have been looking for a new axe, preferably American made, but like others have mentioned in other posts, it has become difficult to know exactly where a product is manufactured. I was considering a Council Velvicut, but I think I may simply find an old S&N or Collins Legitimus to restore. Much cheaper and I will have the satisfaction of owning a truly American made axe, which I restored. The only problem is that it will take time to find the "right" vintage axe for me.
