Hell Razor or Satin Jack or Wait?

After reading posts by you knifexperts, and checking out Busse's site, I am very impressed. However I was curious if you guys had any preferences toward either the HELL or JACK? Someone mentioned that the Hell Razor might be gone soon - will something better replace it?

thank you friends!

Better is too subjective a word to be applied here. Jerry's current system brings a model out and has it available for awhile, and then drops it to bring something else out--the idea being to (as much as possible) limit excessive waiting times by not having so many orders that need to be filled for so many different models. The Hell Razor isn't being replaced, the pattern is just going back under wraps until, someday, its spot in the cycle comes back around. At least, that's the plan as far as I know it. It'll be a good while before that happens, though.

We've already had the SFNO, the SJ, and now the Hell Razor--what we haven't had yet are some of the small ones and some of the much larger stuff, which will be next on the horizon before any of these come back. If you're looking for a knife this size, I'd probably go ahead and take it. If the very next model that comes out turns out to be your dream knife, you'll easily make your money back selling the Hell Razor. If mint, Busses appreciate rapidly, and they really have to have been used hard before you'll loose money on a discontinued model.

Just my two cents worth.

It’s purely a question of personal preference.

There are still new SJ TACs at the Company Store if you want to buy one immediately.

The hell Razor won’t be up to order for much longer.

Jerry has posted pictures of the War Boar, so that might be the next knife available to order.

The SJ has a convex edge, which might make a difference for you.
HR is flat, right?

DOH! I knew that. Thanks.
No worries.

The SJ TAC confused me until I got it: I couldn’t see how the shop was going to do a full convex grind with coated blades.

When the knife arrived it all made sense: convex primary grind, and convex edge.

I'd say go with the SJ now since you can get one now and you will not regret it, trust me. Besides if you do regret it, you can make your money back and then some when they are all sold out.

If you are anything like me, you should buy the Wait. It is cheaper than both knives and allows you to dive deeper into the frustration of not owning either of the knives you want. The Wait is also great for maintaining relationships with your wife and family. Either of your other choices may not do this and Busses "unconditional" warrantee doesn't cover relationship failure (a severe oversite IMO).
