I have a quick question. Are the specs the same (width/length) on the Hell Razor Terror Monkey and 2008 Hell Razor Comp? Or are they different?

Thanks for any help

Thank you for your response. Seems to be a little thicker.

Rob,
I know this is an old thread, but I am looking for a Busse a little shorter than my NMSFNO in the .20 or a little thicker range. I am wanting something in the 6 - 7 inch range and am thinking it will be a Hell Razor Terror Monkey. From reading your posts over the last year I know you are a huge fan of the NMSFNO, I too love mine, just looking for something a little lighter. How do you like your Hell Razor, any feedback on it compared to your other Busses? Thanks.

Hey How's It Going?

Yes I do love my NMSFNO -- although I think the HHFSH is my new go to 8 inch INFI blade. I was just talking to another forum member a day or two ago about the Military Overrun Hell Razor Terror Monkey. I love the balance the knife has. Feels like a solid throwing knife -- if that's something you'd ever want to do. The low riding saber on the Terror Monkey makes it slightly more forward blade heavy than the CBT version. At least that's how it feels in my hands. I think it can more than hold its own for medium chopping. It definitely seems like it batons better, also due to the low riding saber. Mine is shaving sharp and I feel like it would be a great option as a hiking, backpacking, and camp chore knife. If you paired this blade with a Silky Gomboy folding saw and with small neck knife, folder, or small EDC blade -- you'd have all bases covered for a full excursion. I highly recommend it. The sarsquatch is also a great knife -- so take a look at that as well. Hope this helps.

Oh and one more thing --- if you love the SFNO handle, which I do, you'll love the Hell Razor. Same handle (I think) and same great feel. I find myself holding the Hell Razor Terror Monkey in my hand a lot more than my other knives. Here's a quick list of blades to check out in that size range:

1. TGLB
2. Hell Razor Terror Monkey
3. SARsquatch
4. SJTAC
5. Tankbuster
6. SAR7
7. Scrap Yard Regulator (Thick blade with Res-C handle and much cheaper price) (( contact me if interested))
8. Boss Jack CG
9. Beefmandu
10. SFNO

Check out the SARSquatch. It's an underappreciated blade.

Nnnnnnnnno! Don't tell him to do that! There aren't enough for the two of us! At least let me get MINE FIRST!

You guys throw that blade (Squatch) out there like there are a million of em or something! Lemmi. Know if you know of anyone willing to sell or trade one!
;)

Thank you to all that replied, I know we are all busy and appreciate your time.

I realize I am not the only one in search of the "perfect" knife, I know it is a problem for all of us. I finally bit the bullet about 4 months ago and bought my first Busse, I now have at least a dozen....I snatched up a couple TGLB's first because they were readily available....then came the NMSFNO's, a couple bigger choppers and a half dozen Wardens I picked up worth the money. This problem all started when I was looking for a tougher replacement for my Esee 6....I should mention that in my hunt I also ended up with a Rodent 6, Beefmandu and a SYKCO 711.

I don't know anyone in my area that is into Busse, so the only way I can even hold them is to buy them. I used to lie to myself and say that I would keep what I liked and catch and release the rest, but to date I have never sent a single knife back into circulation.

I appreciate all the opinions and a Sar 6, 7 and Chopwieler are definitely on my hunt list. I was hoping to narrow this current search down to the SFNO LE, Tank Buster LE or Hell Razor Terror Monkey, but realize that inevitably I will end up with them all.

That gives you guys a little more time to hoard your Sarsquatches, I will have to have one, but Busse already owns part of my house and I have to make sure the bank keeps the other half.

SJ TAC LE wasn't even on my radar, it is now....like I needed another one to watch for

Rob_Mob put together a great list, the only thing I would add is an ASH-1. The ASH-1 blade length is about 6 3/8"; the "skinny" version is .19" thick, and the LE and many ganza versions is .22". I much prefer the ASH-1 handle shape/size compared to the SF handle (I have medium size hands, and I realize handle comfort/fit is very subjective depending on a person's hand size and personal preferences). The ASH-1 has been and continues to be very popular - keep an eye on the exchange and ganzas if you decide to look for one.

Didn't see it mentioned above, but what about an AXE Hammer ? Pretty darn close to the SJ Tac IMO. I've got one and been wanting one more lol. It's also readlly available with kydex sheath option. Just thought I'd toss it out there  :)

The SJTAC LE at .22" thick and with a convex grind is definitely more substantial than the 3/16" SJTAC CG.
I like the TAC handle, but not everyone agrees on this. :)

Another oldie that I like very much is the Basic 7, although they are hard to find these days. The old Basic series (3, 5, 7 & 9) were all .25" thick. The B7 has a very comfortable handle, great balance, and a small choil; it is one of my all-time favorite Busse knives!
