Got the chance to go for a weekend trip with the guys on our Hogs (Harleys) to my friend's island camp 4 hours north of the stinking city. I took the Hell Razor along for a serious workout. I wore it all weekend long in a Spec OPs survival sheath to try it out for comfort. The only time I knew it was there was sitting down when it had to be moved aside for comfort. The HR chopped reasonably well for it's size, (I could have taken one of my SH's but I like the HR size for a camp knife), it cut ham, chicken and sausage, opened cans of beans, got pounded through hardwood to make kindling and got thrown at a log about a hundred times. This thing is a natural thrower. I normally throw with a blade grip but the HR seems to like a handle throw and would sink 8 out of 10 times with no practise. Anyone with a HR gotta try throwing it!
We did the usual booze cruise around the lake, shot some shells and cut a flagpole from a deadfall. The HR cut half way through the base and removed the top and most of the limbs, no wear on my hands!
The blade showed some damage, probably from throwing, bouncing off into rock. It has some rolled sections (small) and what looks like a chip on another section. I will do some research on how to reprofile for ease of sharpening and utility later. I have no strop to redo the original edge. Had a great time, wish you all could have been there. Hope you enjoy the shots.
