I was watching Gangland (a show about various gangs and criminal organizations) on Spike and they were detailing some huge biker brawl between the the Hell's Angels and the Mongols and they showed an evidence photo of a bloody knife used in the brawl.
They specifically called it a spyderco knife, but i have never seen this model.

It was a small fixed blade (neck knife range) with a clipped looking blade and most notably a round index hole at the top of the handle above the scales before the blade.
It looked ALOT like a TOPS Cockpit Commander.

Anybody have a clue what this lil bit of Spyderco steel is????

Could have been a Perrin Street Beat.

Hard enough to ID without a pic.
Let's see if the Spyderco forum is a better place for the question.

Possibly a SWICK or a SPOT, which used the same handle but had a reverse S blade.

The cop said Spyderco, but the picture was of a cheap "knuckle" knife. Later, they showed the Spyderco "Police" model as the knife used to stab the bikers. Wrong picture.

I agree I saw that episode as well. Not a spyderco at all. They sure made the brand sound menacing though.

There were probably about a dozen different knives recovered from the scene of that particular event.

the knife I was asking about wasn't the "knuckle" knife shown (think that one was a United Cutlery pos) but one with a small w00d-scaled high-end looking blade with a hole suited for just your index finger in forward grip

thanks

on a slightly unrelated note about the Perrin street beat, if the blade was a bit longer and the edge line more offset from the front of the handle (kinda like the Mosier Trigonaut model from Boker, the offsetting i mean) I would sell my car for one....:p

That sounds sorta like a Perrin LaGriffe. Many companies have done inferior knockoffs of his design. Emerson and Boker have produced versions of the LaGriffe under license, but they do not have scales. The Spyderco Spot doesn't have scales either. Maybe someone can do a screen capture?

that's the knife showed when police officer said "he pulled out the spyderco knife".

yeah, spyderco for sure ;)

but that's another screenshot taken from that show:

Maybe it was just the thought of - it has a hole it has to be Spyderco

Any car that's drivable I know of should be worth a custom knife...
