Does anyone on the forum have any experience of this manufacturer ???

I'm after a general purpose non tactical fixed blade for mainly camp duties, food prep etc..

The two models that have caught my eye are the Fjellkniven or the slightly larger Eggen..
My main queries are about the quality of steel for edge retention, and the durability of the birch handles .

Thanks in advance....

I got a half dozen Helle's and have nothing but good to say about all. They're well made traditional nordic knives. They are tough little knives easy to sharpen on a flat stone. I've found them ideal for general utility work. Not "tactical" but very useable. Try one you won't be sorry.

Check out ragweedforge.com for comments on Helle knives and blades. I believe most feature laminated stainless steel blades which are reputed to hold an excellent edge.
