I'm lookin at this knife and I like it. Lookin at a good bushcraft knife under $70 bucks the laminated steel thing sounds good. Any one have experince with this brand

So far I like the Eggen HE75

I don't have that model, but have purchased a few Helle knives. The quality is very good and the materials are beautiful. Big Thumbs Up from me.

I bet you'll find more info in the Wilderness and Survival sub-forum, and someone only yesterday started a topic in General about Norwegian knife brands.

I have the Harding and it's as functional as it is pretty. Sharp as a laser and the perfect blade finish allows me to use it as a small camp mirror when messing with my contact lenses, etc. I did some minor shaping of the handle to fit my hand better.

I'll be buying more Helles in the future.

Stay sharp,
desmobob

I will re post in the Survival sub-forum. I like both those knives now :)

The Eggen is a superb knife... not a chopper, but a cutter. Helle uses a high carbon blade sandwiched between very tough stainless sides. Light, great edge holding, excellent ergonomics... the sheath is a good design but made of flimsy leather. I cut mine apart and used it as a pattern and made another out of more substantial leather. I gave it to a nephew who I think highly of.

I have a Symfoni and it is THE sharpest knife in my collection.... Sandvik 12C27 stainless. It feels good in the hand and looks knice too.... the reindeer antler is a nice touch.
I put a picture or two in your other thread in the Wilderness forum....

I have a Brakar and another knife with a Harding blade and a handle of a plum wood made by myself, which I keep in my car. The steel of these knives is something one should try to make his own opinion, but I think its`more than decent. Great design and excellent woods used for the handles. The outer layers of 1810 stainles steel is very easy to scratch, but that`s not an issue for me.Even considering the big factory angle of the blades typical for the norwegian knives they can be made so sharp to cut very thin tomato slices one can see through them.

I have the Helle Fire and am going to get a Helle Safari in the near future, great knives, I edc mine every now and then. The steel is great as well. I think they are an outstanding value.
