I went to knifecenter today with USAFSP and saw these Norwegian Fixed blades named Helle, the Jegermester was the one that caught my eye, it was light and had a great feel. Sadly they were going to someone else, due to backorder. Anywho does anyone know anything about these knives?

Google it. I did and came up with some knife sellers and a online Norway shop. Don't know anything of the reputation though, which prolly what you're looking for.

They have a good reputation for quality and usually use laminated blades. The prices are very reasonable and I think there are quite a few in the US that sell them. They are available from one of the biggest distributors so it shouldnt be that hard to source one.

2 seconds on Google and ..tadaaa!

Helle knives are great. A few years ago, they used to be a screaming good deal, but I think the dollar has fallen since then.

Ragnar is one of the best guys to deal with. If you're going to buy one, go with him.

I have the Helle Millstone that was a gift from wife. It's a well-made knife, created with beautiful natural materials, and the steel receives good reviews from users. Definitely seems worth the money. I don't think you'll be sorry.

I have a Helle "Harding 99". A nice knife for the price.
Laminated stainless steel blade that is terrifyingly sharp.
They're handsome knives and are pure cutting tools.
Mine has a 1/8" thick blade with the Scandinavian grind that tapers straight down to that scary edge with no visible secondary edge bevel.
It came with about a 7 oz. leather pouch type sheath that covers all but 2" of the handle. There is a brass fitting on the butt end of the handle and a flap of leather on the sheath engages that fitting to keep the knife in the sheath till your ready for it. Interesting form of retention and it works pretty good too.

All the ones Barrabas74 and I played with were awesome. I am going to get one or two for myself. The blades were very nice to look at.

I love my Jegermester!
The blade is a little thinner that some of the other Helles,
and not laminated.
It is 12C27 stainless. Cuts like a champ.
I bought it from Smokey Mtn a while ago.
I think that ragweed forge has them too.
I will say that the sheath takes some getting used to.
If you push the knife in forcefully, you will probably cut through it.
Drop it in, it'll seat and then stay put.

Helle makes great puukko finnish knives but you also might have a look at Marttiini (AGRussel has some), EKA, Frost, Roselli and Isakki knives. All of them make decent nordic/scandinavian classic knives.

Check Ragnar's site:

I bought Brakar and Fjellkniven from him - very fast, I got them second day.

This knives are very popular as a worknig horses among hunters and outdoorsmen.
