Does anyone have any experience with this knife? The Helle knives don't seem to get reviewed or talked about much here. After doing 5 days in the boundary waters I can see the advantage of having a cork handled knife that floats. I was just looking for anyone that has had good/bad/indifferent hands on with this particular blade. Thanks!

It is generally accepted that Helle makes a fine blade.
I've had/have 2 SS Helles and like(d) them just fine.
So it comes down to the different handle material...
Cork has been used for fishing rods for decades and decades.
It should hold up just fine.
I doubt it will last as long as a wooden handle but everything has some sort of trade off.
Top Tip: when it gets dirty and grungy clean the cork with a toothbrush and some dish soap.

Hope this helps.

Looks like a great knife. The Temagami and Harding were my favorite Helle knives, I've had quite a few more than just those. Excellent blades. Only reason I got rid of mine was because I have a weird OCD love/hate relationship with scandi grinds.

I'd loved to have owned the Hellefisk as a kid. Since all my fishing now is catch & release it wouldn't see much use.

Helle makes great knives, and they wouldn't make a cork handle if it were going to embarrass them.
