Hello and introductions.

just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say hello. I live in the Buckeye State, southeast of Columbus. I am and avid outdoors person who loves to hunt big whitetails and trap predators. I would someday like to make a knife for use. i have a small collection of commercial knives but looking to get into something more custom made to my liking!
so that brought me here to ask questions and learn about the art of knife making and knives in general!

Excellent. Describes me as well. Including the trapping part. Id take 30 minutes of being in the woods over 3 days of city time. :thumbup::D:thumbup:

thanks for the replies. as far as likes i am an all around knife guy. however i am lacking in the fixed blade department. " but i am not a fan of the larger type bowie and swords"
my next purchase will be a carry fixed blade hunting knife for field work such as field dressing, I currently use a case lock blade hunter for that work!
I would want a knife with great steel and able to hold edge that is easy to sharpen
 
BLIND HORSE KNIVES in Wintersville, Ohio. My go to fixed blades for hunting and outdoors stuffs. Handmade in Ohio and very good price point for a hand made knife, only down side is that they are made to order and it takes a few weeks to get one.
 
Hello everyone!I'm new to the board and I just wanted to introduce myself. Maybe you can all introduce yourself back so we can kind of get to know each other?I'm Alec.I'm 25 years old.I love hunting.I always keeps some knives set.I just found this forum at google.I seen some interesting threads and posts so I thought I would sign up.
Now looking forward to learning and sharing from the community about knives.
