Hey all this is just my intro I seen a few on here and thought I'd jump in! New to this forum but had a good chance to look around before I registered (thanks to the paid members) I'm a bit of a mixed bag and have had an interest in edged weapons from childhood and began collecting age 13. My background is military (5 years infantry) and EMS with search and rescue to. Iv been out of action for a while after unplanned surgery and just dipping my toes in again.
My interest here is the knife makers and bushcraft a bit of tactical and hopefully I'll get some inspiration from the post a here I'm really keen on trying some leather work so I'm looking out for posts about that. I got off to a bit of a rocky start with my first post yesterday "your blades or your family" poll it was a bit of a laugh but I got mistaken for a troll :/ and thankfully was able to sort it out.
Looking forward to navigating the forums and learning a few things along the way.
Hope everyone is keeping well and thanks to those who helped me out yesterday when I got into a bit of bother.
Best of luck Ell

Hello and welcome to BladeForums!

I look forward to seeing and reading your content and contributions to this great site.

It sounds like you share our common passion in knives.

Good luck in your adventures and have a great day!

I do share the passion :D but I do have several other priorities that come first. I'll be floating around and contribute when I can!

Been there man. A few years ago I made some comments about my own experiences with Great Eastern Citlery and out of nowhere I was accused of trolling and had some not so kind words thrown my way. Went back a little while ago and re-read my comments. I could sorta see where these guys were coming from. We live, we learn.

Good way of sounding out the sense of humour.. lol.. you gotta have a laugh sometimes to and I have to admit some of the comments gave me a good laugh

Welcome to the Blade Forums. It is real easy for new members who have no background here to be accused of trolling (as mentioned by Terdl76 above). Some things are sacred (but not to me). Great Eastern stuff is sacred. ;) The annual forum knife selection process in the traditional forum is sacred. The dominant reason is it is a non-profit all volunteer effort.

I figured general knife discussion was the right place for it.. Lol my bad but at least I was able to sort it out thanks to the volunteers. Iv been involved in other forums as a mod and admin and i have to say this place is bang on! Very well run and maitained. Loving it here
