I would like to thank all you guys for your kind words in responce to Bruce's post regarding the birth of my granddaughter and the pictures of my knives that he put up.
I would also like to take this time to extend Bruce and his lovely wife Donna a personal thank you. Bruce is taking time with me showing me how to fordge blades and Donna always has a hot lunch ready for us . They have opened shop and home for me and make me feel welcome whenever Im there.
I have been making knives by the stock removal method for a number of years now, but decided to give fire and hammer a try because of the many knife making steels available just laying around old shops and barns and I wanted to try somthing different. Yep, got hooked.
The first thing I noticed when I met Bruce was his passion for the craft, so when I made my mind up to ask for guidance, Bruce was all to willing to help. He was the one that told me you guys had this forum.
The computer chair does't get empty much around here but I manage to read yall every chance I get. This is the greatest exchainge of informaton and encouragement I have ever seen. So once again yall thanks.

Hello, Chuck, welcome! Your knives are fantastic, hope to see more of your stuff here soon. Bruce has been one of the most untiring helpers around, and sure gave me the confidence to take chances. You're in fine good company.

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

What can I say Chuck other than Your Welcome!!
I am just glad that I can be of help,You have helped me out in the shop more than you realize by helping get the Power hammer up and running and making me take days off from have to's and play a little, even though it is still making knives it is something that I want to do for fun.The shop used to be my relaxation and fun after work and now that I am full time I need to have that time from the everyday things still, and the forge is the most fun I can have besides shooting my bow ( which is second to forging)
I love to have company that likes knives and wants to learn about knifemaking, sometimes we learn together. So I offer a open invitation to anyone that would like to visit or work on something in the shop to stop by if you are in the area,The door will always be open.....
Bruce

Those were some sharp looking knives Bruce posted for you, and as said already, keep us updated on your future work.

No, Rob were from south Lousiana & south Mississippi.

Yea Dave, Bruce is a great confidance builder. It's amazing how short an 86 mile drive, (from his driveway to mine) can be when it comes to making knives.

Much thanks again guys
