hello everyone!

i always liked the cqc 8 - but i never got around to order one - and the customs always seemed so out of reach - almost mystical :D

when i watched some interviews with Mr Emerson i knew it would be an honor to have a knife that was made by him

whats more is that i find emerson knives customer service outstanding - when i asked questions about left hand conversions and the cqc8 their customer care replied within an hour or so - thats what i call service

so needless to say when i unboxed my cqc8 today - it was an awesome experience - the fit and finish, quality of the grind - the materials... just awesome - and these ergonomics are unbelievable

so i am hooked! - now i want a 15 and a persian too :D

ill post better pics soon - but i just had to take a few immediately :D

thanks to an awesome BF member it came new in box as advertised:

thanks for looking! :)

To me the CQC8 design is one of the best EVER.

Great choice

Damn, I started out with a A100 as my first Emerson, but that is an incredible first Emerson you've got there, Im guessing you will have a few more before the years end...

Wow, nice first emerson. I have never even had the chance to hold a custom in person and I've been buying his stuff for years. Use it.

Welcome to the club bud!!! Awesome first Emerson!!! Ernie makes the best custom blades on the planet in my opinion. I have had blades from just about every maker and I carry a CQC5 and a G23 every single day! Here is my customs a 5 and a Gentleman Jim.

Please USE IT!!! It kills me, especially seeing Emersons that look like they have never been used. Super piece. Congrats!

thanks for your comments everyone!

i just love this knife!!! it is just too cool - the action is still a bit stiff for thumbdisk opening - but i really like the wave feature! i had to tie a lanyard for it because of the pocket clip is on the wrong side :) (you guessed it - i am a lefty)

cant wait to dress it up with a steel flame clip nevertheless... this beauty deserves it :D

so for the pics (still cellphone - pro pics to follow some time)

new lanyard:

just look at these curves:

overall awesomeness:

LOVE this grind - my photo skills dont do it justice:

thanks for looking guys!

oh - and i carry it and plan to use it of course - i wont abuse it by cutting some roofing felt or sheet rock or something but you get the idea

Man, oh man! How I absolutely love that particular finish and grind! I want to get a pic that shows the blazing colors in there when it catches the light right. I know you know what I mean too.

I don't think my lousy camera can do it but I'll try just the same.
