multi tool carrier. But in the early 90s I had a knife that I carried with me for several years until it got stolen out of my truck. And in the search for another one I became hooked on multi tools ever since. It wasnt anything expensive but it was a big tough folder that took everything I threw at it. I only have limited knowledge about it but maybe somebody can give me info on where to purchase another one.

1. It was what you call a Swing Gaurd Knife

2. The blade was probably 3 to 3 1/2 inches long. But a very thick blade good for prying things open.

3. The guard was brass.

4. To release the blade when it was open it had a spring loaded switch on the side of the handle. That you would slide down to unlock the blade. And the switch kind of matched the handle style.

5. The handle was was very large and had handles that looked like I guess bone or antlers.

6. It had several brass pieces running through it that held the knife together.

7. I think it was made in Japan and remembered the knife guy telling me it used to be given to the Japanese Military. Im not sure if it was true or not.

The info I gave you was probably not very good but you never know? Any help to find this pocket knife again would be much appreciated. It had sentimental value and would love to find another one.

Thanks
Steve

Case is a big name in traditional pocket knives. They make a nice Swing Guard known as the Cheetah for Ruger Firearms. They will run $75, but the reputation that case has is pretty good. IIRC, Case is still a USA made brand.

There are also some knives you may like on auction sites as well. Search around, I believe that you will be pleased:)

Wow!! I know theres a million brands out there but I figured with all these knife guys here somebody might have a guess?

Bulldog and Bear and son also make swinguards. If yours was an automatic the check here...http://www.swinguard.com/

I also believe Queen, Puma, and possibly Boker make them in the non-auto versions.
