Hello everyone, I have been browsing this forum for the last few months so I figured it was time that I joined. Anyway a little about me.
I work for a local Internet service provider that specializes in providing Fiber optic service to business. I use my knife daily for everything from opening envelopes to cutting the Kevlar support out of fiber cable.
My current EDC's are:
Bark River Micro-Canadian in a A.G Russel Woodswalker pocket sheath
Benchmade mini Griptilian
Benchmade/Emerson Spec war CQC7
While not at work I spend as much time as possible hunting, fishing or just hiking around the woods.
While out in the field I usually carry my bark River in addition to a CRKT Carcajou. For an inexpensive knife the caracajou has great balance and is just about the perfect small game skinning knife. I have used mine on several squirrel and even a few deer.
I also like to carry my Cold steel SRK. I picked this knife up in 96 While in the Marine Corps. It served me well through a couple of tours over seas. This is the original SRK, Made in the USA with the Carbon V steel. I remember when I bought this knife they where advertising how you could bend this over 30 degrees with out it breaking or being deformed. I used and abused this knife and it still holds a great edge. After one tour with this knife my trusty K-Bar was retired...
By far, the Little Bark river fixed blade is my favorite carry knife, I'm not sure if its the convenience of a small fixed blade or the fact that this blade really holds an edge but for whatever reason this knife sees a lot of time in my pocket.
That being said, I am getting the itch for another small fixed blade to toss into the EDC rotation.
Right now, I am looking at either a bench made 211 activator or a Bark River PSK.
Does anyone here have both of these knifes? If so what is your opinion?
I really like the pocket sheath I use for my Bark River, and I would like to be able to carry one of these two in a similar fashion. Do any of you carry either of these knives in a A.G. Russel pocket sheath?
Semper Fi!
