Hey everyone, first post here. I've lurked a bit off and on over the years and finally decided to join. Thought I'd start with a little info about myself.
I'm 29 and live in Missouri, USA. Like most of you, I have been into knives for as long as I can remember. My first "real" knife was a knock-off SAK Classic I bought for $0.89 at Wal-Mart, probably around the age of 8 or 9. Shortly after that my dad (probably taking pity on me) gave me a real Classic, and over the years I went from that to Gerber, Buck, Kershaw, Spyderco, CRK, etc...it's the same old story we've heard a thousand times.
Currently, I own mostly Spyderco knives. My main interest has been in different and unusual steels. Current favorites include Maxamet, LC200N, Super Blue, and a few others, although I definitely won't turn up my nose at CPM S30V / 5VN or even the lowly 8Cr13MoV. All good, just different.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to being a member here and getting to know some of you.
All the best,
Connor
BTW I'm fairly active over on the Spyderco Forums, under the same username.
