Hello everyone. I have been lurking on Bladeforums for quite some time, but have started posting just recently. Spyderco is by far my favorite knife manufacturer. I have bought a total of 6 Spydercos sight unseen from the internet and they have all been well above what I would expect based on the price:
- Plain edge Native III
- Combo edge Native III - for my nephew
- Plain edge SS handle Police
- Plain edge 4th gen FRN handle Endura
- ZDP Delica (excellent knife!!)
- Fully serrated 4th gen FRN handle Endura - for my other nephew

The ZDP Delica is a real prize knife, I bought if for about $90 with shipping and everything. I have cut up a bunch of boxes and I think I must have hit a staple or something because it got a knick in the edge. I reprofiled it with an X-course DMT stone and progressed from the course to the fine to the ultra fine Spyderco stones. Now the edge is at less of an angle and has a mirror polish like I like. I scratched the blade a little with the DMT stone, so now there is no doubt that the knife is mine.
Sorry for the long post. I have been lurking so long that I almost feel like I am talking to celebrities! Ha ha.

Welcome to the forums!! And you have started a nice Spydie collection!!

Welcome, and might I say that's a very nice way to kick off a collection! Enjoy your Spyders, they won't be your last!

Thank you for the welcome everyone.
Yes, the Spyder has indeed bitten me! I bought the above listed Spyders within the last year, but I would still like to have something from the Salt series and a fixed blade. The Temperance is very tempting...ha ha. I think a website is selling them for $40 right now...I forget which store though. Although the upcoming ZDP Endura would be nice, I cannot really justify another ZDP knife to myself considering cutting cardboard is the most demanding thing I have done with my Delica so far.
Has anyone here used their ZDP knives for anything rough? I will put mine to the test next time I have something like that...I don't want to keep it nice and pretty, I want to see what that baby can do!

Sierra Trading Post.

And welcome from me as well!

I used my ZDP Delica to remove waferboard underlayment which had been screwed, nailed and glued to the decking in an apartment at work. It scratched a couple of other knives, but not the ZDP. So far, only the DMT has managed to put a scratch on that dude. If I was less of a klutz, it would have stayed pristine for a LONG time. Fortunately, scratches don't bug me :D

Yes! That is the store. Thank you.

Im glad to hear that someone is using the ZDP Delica hard. I really like the blue handle on it as well, it makes it look less threatning and is a nice change from the normal black or SS knives I have. I live near Los Angeles and I always carry the Delica if I am going to LA or through LA because I think knife laws there state that a knife blade cannot be over 3". The Delica is my almost everyday carry because a smaller blade really seems to give me more control.

Welcome to Bladeforums!!
Don't forget about Spyderco's own forum at the Spyderco website.
