Hello everybody I'm DIYknife and I'm happy to be finally participating in this forum after looking at it so much. I'm looking for a new folding knife for EDC. Ideally cost is less than $50, blade length is ~3 inches, and the knife is durable. Other than that, go crazy with suggestions.

Buck Vantage Select. You can get both a large and small for under $50.

I just picked the Ontario Rat 1 and I'm very surprised about it's durability. The blade coating wears quite fast, but I'm very happy with it.

Try the Spyderco Tenacious or if that looks to big the Spyderco Persistence both are study and a big bang for the buck.

Delica 4 FFG. And you might as well go ahead and get the Endura 4 FFG to complete the set. These 2 knives will pretty much cover 95+% of all the EDC tasks most of us face (with many color options, of course).

Welcome to the forums, bud.

I'll echo the Suggestions on the Delica as well, but add a few more. For a further stretch, you can land yourself in Manix2 territory.

Just slightly down the mountainside you can find some great offerings from Kershaw, some in the USA made brand, and some in the imported category.

Again, Welcome. Don't fret over your first purchase, though. You'll have lots of practice!

If you want durability in that price range you can't go wrong with a Rat, a Utilitac, or a Recon 1.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Thanks everybody for the suggestions, but I need to add one more spec. I'm not a fan of the holes on Spyderco knives.
