I have just joined Bladeforums after lurking here for many years , I think lurking is the right word. I have always found excellent information here for my own knife making endeavors. I'm just a hobby knife maker that uses the knives I make for hunting and outdoor stuff.15n20 is my go to steel. I hope to contribute to the forum for at least as many years as I've been lurking , prowling whatever it's called.

welcome. look forward to seeing the knives your making. post some pics of your work for us. thanks.

Welcome to BF. I hope you have a good time. Forging is a super-power. Please share your designs with us sometime. 👍

Request, give a koala a knife please. Need to see a koala with a knife. I'll give a Raccoon a bomarang.

Also, welcome.

Welcome to the party! I hear there is a major problem with carrying knives in Australia, now that firearms are forbidden. Is this true?

Welcome. Would one be in trouble for just carrying a Swiss Army knife or a pocket knife? just curious, I know a hunting knife is a different matter, but do cops get to decide if you there is a legitimate reason to have a knife? I k ow I have heard that stating self defense is not necessarily a justifiable reason to carry one. Thanks for your input.

"Just over 450 charged, for just carrying a knife... what is scary is how many go undetected!" Eugh, cringe video.

Not to be flippant, but... violent criminals are going to use something to commit violence with now that they do not have firearms, and yes, generally a huuuuge knife may look appealing. People are gonna use weapons, bit of a clear answer. It is a violence problem, not a tool probblem.

Keep the political commentary out of it. The General Forum is for discussing KNIVES.

Is the southern cross sideways or upside down in the Land down under? What knife brands are popular in Oz? We would like to see your work.

When commenting about a knife to use don't you have to consider where and how it will be used before making a choice? It only seems logical to me that is what you should do. We all know that England, and the colonies, have problems properly addressing these issues treating them almost as firearms.
