Hey everyone!

I'm new to EDC and higher end knife collecting. Since I was a kid I have collected pocket knives but always cheap ones from the flea market. Now as an adult I decided it was time to step my game up and buy higher quality knives.

I'm currently working to get the following items for my everyday carry.

I would appreciate any advice or comments about the items below/good websites/places to buy items similar to those listed in New Jersey

Boker Plus Subcom
Boker Magnum Lil Friend Neck Knife
CRKT Tao Tactical Pen
Olight S10 Baton
Maxpedition EDC Pouch
Leatherman Squirt Multitool
Spyderco Ladybug
Benchmade 530 Pardue Axis Lock

Thanks!!

Welcome !! Another jersey resident here. Are you on njgf?

First off the boker lil friend series knives are really small, think the size of a small bic lighter. I got a set for cheap and they are mostly useless as an alternative look at the crkt minimalist series. My edc bag is a maxpedition versipack jumbo and i love it. Im far from an expert or collector but if you want to check out my "edc " let me know

Welcome, you can shop from any of these places and get good prices and authentic products.

The basic advice given to people here is always look for the place that is selling legitimate items, many times people are scurrying around trying to save a couple dollars and end up buying from the worst stores possible. Do your homework, use the Internet to research companies/stores before buying, look at their record for being ethical, honest, and easy to work with.

I'll definitely check out your EDC! I'm not on njgf, I'm not sure what it is. Are there any places in NJ that you have found quality products? I'm from the Jersey Shore area.

Thanks guys! I'll definitely check out your EDC and I'm not sure what njgf is? Also is there anywhere in NJ that you've found quality products? I'm from the Jersey Shore area.

Njgf= nj gun forums. If you are a gun owner id get on there its a pretty good board. I really havnet bought any quality knives locally. If you are looking for millsurp then the army navy store in seaside is owned by a guy on njgf and can get in anything thst was ever issued pretty quickly. Godfather airsoft also sells alot of knives in greenbrook nj. Haven't bought from them just know they have a decent selection. Im in somerset county

Since you are newer to higher end knives, I'd personally go straight to that Benchmade 530 and experience the axis lock... that will be the measuring stick that you'll start to judge other blades by IMO.

As difficult as it is for me to say, don't go nuts ordering everything that looks good or is a step up from what you have now... after you get a quality knife with highly regarded lockup like an Axis lock BM, your tastes will probably change (maybe not for looks, but definitely in what you'll want in a knife).

Again IMO, you're better off cutting that list down to 1-2 of the best you can afford, then save up and get something else down the road that's a step up even from your newest knives. Basically, you'll be in the never ending quest for the perfect knife/steel, so don't limit yourself budget wise with what you think you'll want now, when you can learn here and make a more informed decision later.

Good luck and welcome!
