i have two knives

spartan blades trout - Black blade S45VN
benchmade auto adamas - flat earth blade CPM-cruwear

I don't use a knife.
I want to keep my knife safe.

So, to prevent rust and corrosion on the knife
Products such as oil or wax needed to protect
I would really appreciate it if you could recommend it.

Currently, I have purchased several types of products.

Eagle tears blade guard paste
Flitz gun&knife wax
KPL pivot lube

Can these products be used on coated blades?

And when cleaning after applying wax, do I have to wash the blade with water and then apply the wax?

Any help and experience would be greatly appreciated.

Have a nice day

S45VN is a stainless steel, so you don't have to oil it to protect it

Cru-Wear is not technically classified as stainless, but it is very close to being stainless, so you also don't have to oil it.

If you plan on just keeping your knives in a display box and never use them, then just wipe them clean and dry, no further protection is needed.

Thank you!

Can I use the wax or oil that I already bought?

PMQ just explained that there is no reason to use any of those products...

Besides that, your blades are coated, double the reason to not use anything.
Your knives won't benefit from any oil, wax or paste. They are good to go as they are.

The products you bought are typical for Carbon Steel, D2, 3V, M4 etc.

Thank you !!!

I mean, if you really like those oil and wax and would love to use them, then... yes, I guess. But it's like you're living in a desert, you're indoor and you put on a rain coat because you afraid you'll get wet from rain.

If anything, maybe the flitz wax to give them more shine. Might not show finger prints as much.

If you want to preserve the knives in original condition, it’s not that you need to put anything on the blades to keep them original, but more importantly, it’s the environment they’re kept in during storage. You need to store them in a climate controlled environment. Do not store them in a sheath, pouch or any other type of holder.
If it’s a big safe, you can get a system that will control the humidity in the safe. Or you can get silica bags to help with humidity if the safe is small.
With a climate controlled safe, even if you take the knives out to admire them, it won’t affect the condition of the knife as long as you remember to wipe the knife down.
