Hi, I'm pretty new to buck knives, having just started collecting 110s this year. I sold my old mixed up knife collection from a fews years back to concentrate on the one make and model and buck 110s seemed the right way to go and I must admit I love them.

I was wondering if any of you smart folks could help me out with some info on these two.

Would anyone know the model number and how many were made of this knife with the cut out. I bought it as the knife and sheath only so no info with it other than the serial number 1197.

Also could anyone tell me the model number of this one and perhaps what type of wood the scales could be.

Thanks heaps for your help.

I do not have any info on these two knives, but I know they are some good looking knives. Nice find and keep looking for them.

Best of Luck,
John

Looks like the 2nd knife was from 2004. Can you tell me what it says inside the banner on the blade? I took a quick look and did not find it in my notes but I am sure we can locate it for you.
By the way, Welcome to the forums! :)

Hi Joe, it is a 2004 and as buckman say's it has limited edition in the scroll with 147 of 300 above it.

I'll definately keep collecting these buckman, I managed to pick up 5 this month ( there goes my savings ) all realy nice knives. I may need some help on a couple of those too but thought just put two up for starters.

The second knife was made/modified by a third party company out of PA from a standard #110 with brown pakkawood inlays, so you won't find a Model or Catalog number on it from Buck. The knife should come in a wood or heavy cardboard box with a faux marble lid or a display case. The OBL is Catalog # 5439.

Come to think of it, I have seen them that way also. The end of the box has no label, right? Thanks for the additional info.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful help.
Wow you guys really know your knives.

Thanks Richard also for so much detailed information.

Good thing you didn't ask us about pickin' up chicks. We'd have to get a committee together along with our decoder rings and Club Slide Ruler.

Well JollyRancher and Jim...

I was wrong. The correct number of 110OBL was/is "2003" knives. Not "2000". BUT, if you count the three that we collectively have, that means that there are still 2000 out there. How's that for a crawfish move? LOL

Here's mine...it bugs the living sheet outta me that the Anniv Logo is crooked.

JollyJumBuck...took the pic with the COA for your reference. That's my good deed for today, so the hobo that asks me for a smoke later is SOL.

Thanks Goose, I'ts great you guys have gone to so much trouble to help me out. Much appreciated, but now I feel sorry for the hobo who misses his smoke.
