Hello...new guy here...Sorry if this has been asked more times than "Are we there yet?";) Please forgive me.

My question... Is there anyone out there who is making a knife similar to or a copy of the H.G. Long Lapel Knife? I've located several actuals but plan on carrying it and don't want to screw up something that, seems to me, to be a collector's item. Any help?

Thanks,
Paul

Hello zoff12, welcome to BF. I don't much about the knife you refer to so my reply may be off base, but imo unless we're talking about a very expensive or very rare piece, i wouldn't worry so much about carrying one if it's truly what you think you need. Too many good knives sit in drawers/boxes/safes. If it's really got you bugged, do what a lot others do: buy two, stash the best one and use the other.

Thanks Blue Sky! I have considered that. My hesitation is the company that made it...H.G. Long...is no longer a company so no more knives. I already carry a CRKT but wanted a backup. That's the "need", so to speak. I am a firm believer in backup. As a LEO, I carry a backup to my service auto and use the same logic for knives. I may just have to take your advice and just get the H.G. Long and say "to heck with it! Own it! Carry it!" Thanks again!
