Looks like you may have had some trouble uploading the pictures, I've created a thread explaining how to upload them to the forum. You can find it through this link: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Your-Threads-Comments?p=12847881#post12847881

It's pretty straight forward, but if you have any questions or need any help, just click my name and hit "Send Email." As for the knife, I really can't help much without pictures; I don't think anyone else here would have such knowledge without an example either.

Welcome to the forums, don't forget to read the FAQ and the Stickies at the top of each page.

Enjoy your stay here.

assuming it's this sheath?
which is a commercial variant.

yes! not mine but an awesome site of an Argentinian collector to refer to.
the site which he draws reference to is Frank Trzaska's content.

spare some time at his site

as for genuine us made, jet pilot's knives;
look for a camillus or ontario knives marking stamped on tang or pommel.
the paint job on the handle looks like something done with spray cans.
the sheath camo looks pretty professional;
so it's either factory applied or someone really took the time to mask it out.
if it the leather parts are supple and aren't cracking or afflicted by organic infestation,
a silicone based cream/paste would work fine for now.
hope this helps.
