Howdy there! I have been browsing around these forums for some time and decided to join.
Let me tell you what I collect::
I really like to collect historical knives, daggers and swords. Mostly from the Dark Ages, Medieval, and Renaissance European eras. Maybe when I feel my European collection has been filled enough I might go into more eastern blades. I choose European blades mostly because I wanted to be more unique. At the moment I have a modern knife coming in but next month I am planing on starting my European blade collecting.
I am considering collecting armor pieces as well. I only own one sword which is a katana; unfortunately I cannot say with convince that its not just purely made to be a wall hanger. I got that sword as a gift before I found out what makes a "real sword" including made from high carbon, heat treated, and a full tang. I really would love a hand and a half sword.
I want to also learn how to sword fight but I am having an extraordinary hard time trying to find something like this. I thought I almost had to resort to learning star wars light saber forms. Then I realized how stupid that idea was and decided to hold that off until I can learn how to really spar properly.
