Not sure where this would go but.....Just received a really nice file knife that a local blacksmith made and I really think it needs to be shared with all! I keep hearing in my mind.."You call that a knife? THIS is a knife"!! Please move as needed mods.and sorry if I put it in the wrong place.:) Please enjoy the photos!

Welcome and thanks for sharing. Do you happen to know what kind of steel that is? I know it's from a file.

Its a file used on horse hoofs. Down around the hilt area it looks like "C7" but hard to read. It has some real heft to it. I have another bowie a little smaller than this one that cost me three times as must but I would pick my "Blacksmith Bowie" over it!:)

You're very welcome and thanks for the welcome! I enjoy taking photos and some are better than others. I always try to not post up blurry shots.:thumbup:

I thought your pictures were fine!

I am waiting patiently for the following custom made Bowie to arrive - it is made by Stomper, a custom knife maker who has his own area on this forum

Stomper made that knife for me a month ago and I had him ship it to Wasteland Leatherwork to have a custom sheath made for it.

It should be here today or tomorrow!

Welcome! Great piece - and great wood in the handle too. You've got yourself a family heirloom there. :thumbup:

Now, of course, you have to put her to work, and keep us posted on how she does.
