Hi there, from San Antonio, Texas. I'm Dizzy.

I'm still very new to the world of various blades and knives, let alone the various brands and steels used for them.

I grew up, very unappreciative of knives and their usage, despite being surrounded by them often. Our family grew more accustom to the Buck line up of knives, as we believed blades made in the USA are often best.

My very first knife was the Buck Special 0119, and while I enjoyed it very much, I learned the laws in which governed the length of blades one could carry, I really didn't see a need for me to even have it, aside from going out into the wilderness.

Time would pass, the buck would sit there collecting dust as I moved onto bigger things like marksmanship, and paintballing. I got into firearms, and such, drilling with them out on the range. Anyway, growing more aware of certain scenarios in which a knife would be best suited (or scenarios were firearms are prohibited) I've begun researching to see what I could find to best suit my needs. Alas, I'm still not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing, and thus, saw only fit to join a forum of avid blade enthusiasts to better aim and guide my open mind.

Look forward to meeting a few of you, and possibly bartering with in the future!

~Dizzy out!

Welcome my friend I too am new to this cyber world of blades, blades, and more blades. I've carried most of my life, especially during my career as a LEO. Recently noticed Spyderco and became infatuated to say the least. I had sense retired and retired my blades. This Spydie grabbed me and I found this forum. The people here are also afflicted with our disease. So, with arms wide open, welcome to the asylum!

Hi and welcome, I'm new here too

Awesome! Thanks guys! I guess most of the regular forum members got alot better things to do than greet a newcomer here. Lol

I'm a long-time member and I say "welcome," too. If you're feeling down due to lack of replies, know that this particular sub-forum doesn't get as much use as do some of the others. Once you start posting other places I'm sure others will join in your threads. Almost all the people here are welcoming, friendly and helpful. You'll see. :)

BTW Dizzyone the people here are some of the friendliest, knowledgeable, and open people I have ever come across. Enjoy the disease. Lol

I'll give it a shot, I got some useful help from the knife forum, but to be honest, this forum looks better, and is less confusing.

Hey Dizz I'm giving away a Kershaw cryo 1555ti. Look for the post and enter. At bare minimum you'll have some fun and read about real life blade slip ups. Good luck if you decide to enter.
