I bought a lot of Schrade folding knives a while back. The lot consists of mostly two different Schrade models.
1. A large single blade lockback marked Schrade+ SG7 U.S.A. Blade is 3.5 inches, some with plain edge, some with partially serrated edge. Handle is 5 inches
made of Black hard rubber. Some of the knives come with sheaths marked Schrade Outback.
2. A large single blade linerlock marked Schrade+ U.S.A. 47OT. Blade is 3.5 inches with partially serrated edge. Handle is almost 5 inches made of hard rubber Green with
Black trim. Handle has Old Timer etched into it. Some of the knives come with sheaths marked Schrade Old Timer U.S.A.

I am not a Schrade collector. I just lucked into what I thought was a good deal on USA made knives. But I don't know when these were made; what blade steel was used;
were these popular models; are they good quality user knives etc.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Please??

SG7 Outback 1993-1996
SG7S Outback 1993-2002 (the "S" at the end = serrated)
47OT Beast 1997-2004

Completed listings on ebay show either one going for $12-$15 on average. I've never owned so I can't comment on quality... someone that knows more than me can probably address that plus type of steel.

Hi stjohn from Australia,
The knives you have were made by Schrade before they closed down in 2004.
The steel used for the blade, is "Schrade+ steel"; making them as good for a "User knife" as most Schrades.
I have some of those knives in my collection. However, collectors do not pay any way near their retail price of 2004. Ken

I doubt Schrade ever sold many at full msrp either. I'll check some old catalogs and see what the actual retail prices were like.
