Hello, all. My name is Bill, and I'm new to the forum, althouth I've been following it for a few weeks now. I'm also new to Khukris, but I have a HI WW2 (16.5), a HI M43, and a HI JKM-1. Apparently you can't be content with only one.

I was hoping somebody could help me identify the kami markings on my M43 and the JKM (the ww2 is from Sher). I'd post some pictures, but I don't have a digital camera at this time. The M43 has a 4-pointed sun and Nepalese flag, and the JKM has the 4-pointed sun and a flower. Neither has initials in Roman characters. Any ideas?

Thanks!

The flower and the flag are the two symbols which reveal the identity of the smith- but I don't know for sure which of the new kamis have which symbol as theirs now. Welcome, at any rate.

The four pointed sun, or star, is a symbol the Kamis started putting on the kukris over a year ago. No one knows exactly what it means, other than 'good stuff'.

If its newer then the flag means Vim and the flower should be Dil.

Vim is starting to become one of my favorate kamis, next to Bura and Sher.

Edit: I forgot...Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the information, Munk and Skyler. I don't know why, but it's nice to be able to associate a person with these knives. All three knives are so well done it seems ridiculous to even try to pick a favorite, but the Sher WW2 is really first-rate. Maybe it's the slightly larger handle.

No, don't be mistaken about that; Sher puts 'something' into his blades. I count on my Sher blades.

Welcome here, and stick around. You can get many through the DOTD here. You just gotta watch for them and non hesitate.
