what makes it so darn special?

thks,

and once again hello

Welcome, oldtimer. I'll let others pontificate on the subject you asked about.

Hi old-timer.
there are several Texans in the Cantina.
I never heard of alice, though. Is that east texas?
Like say, on the road to newalins?

Welcome to the khukri cantina, friend. Read, I mean study, the website, then we'll talk some more.

Welcome to the Psycho Ward, or Cantina as the case may be today Oldtimer.;) Yup, those Oldtimers were pretty good slipjoints.:D
And Brian's advice is spot on! After you study the HI Website you should have answered your own question and have others like, "Which one should I get first?"

But what makes 'em special is many things to many people. For example their place in history and that my Uncle Floyd new a Ghorka in WW II makes a soft spot in my heart for them.
Another is that the khukuri is just about the most varied use knife in the world is another.
You'll discover your own reasons.:)

yes, its in the east a little below corpus christi and above brownsville.
so actually i get to enjoy padre island a good bit. and as for your coment on newawlins i believe the correct term is new orleans! and i wouldnt give you a penny on the dollar for it.

So many to choose from:
The Kobra- Interesting design and appears to be a fast weapon.
The Anghola- Formidable weapon for self defense and utility work.
The Bowie- Nice design beautiful blade

I just dont know which one to decide on? I want all of them :)

Old Timer- you are writing like a former poster, now banned, by name of Burafan. This was the reason for a member asking you about 'new awleans', something the old Bura Fan used to use. If you are not BF, fine; welcome. But it would not be a good idea to suggest mental impairment of a much appreciated regular like Danny in Japan. We have a habbit of being loose and free here and that is perhaps easily misunderstood.
Again, welcome.

Dear Danny In Japan,
Let me clarify something! I'm not a mind reader! Nor do I know anyone named Bura Fan? Whomever Danny In Japan is though;people do seem to like you as they came (one) to your defense; And I am sure their would be many. If I have in anyway offended you I appologize. And say lets move on.

I simply joined the forum to discuss knives. And No I am not an experienced kukuri person yet! But Hey I have to buy at leaset one first. Right? :

Rusty, what the heck is going to happen to us? We carry on? Do the best we can and hope peace and God's grace pull us out as always? There are rifts in the forum never there before. (and I am not innocent of mistakes, either) We do not always trust newcomers- for good reason. I want this place healthy and laughing again. I guess just hanging on, keeping on keeping on is the only way.
But the bi monthly BF thread doesn't help.

"oldtimer" has now been firmly established as BuraFan.

He will be banned shortly.

Mr. Cade, please leave now and do not come back. You are unwelcome here. We let you come back after being banned for several months, but your personal problems with reality have made you into a joke that is no longer funny but creates outrage among the membership of the HI Forum. Your repeated attempts to come back are hurting the Forum!

Goodbye - permanently!
