First post here and actually first day in Bladeforums.

Thanks to you folks and reading a little bit, I was able to make a decision on which Kabar Warthog to purchase. (the smaller 1463 without the upper guard)

Normally, I would tend toward the larger model and probably would have been a little disappointed in not being able to use the thumb rest.

So thanks.

Thank you Esav Benyamin and all for the warm welcome although I have to admit that the new Warthog is not a start and unfortunately will probably not be the end either. ;)
