Hi all,

I'm new to the board and forum, order my first khukri yesterday from Himalayan Imports

I have been looking for the real deal for some time, found the Himalayan link on another web site. Looking forward to getting it

Welcome to the jungle. Sounds like you're off to a good start. Step 2 is handle care, and step 3 is sharpening. Poke around here a bit, and wander over to the cantina. While you're waiting, might as well search around the house for something to chop into little bits. Looking forward to hearing your impressions once she shows up.
 
Welcome. In case you are wondering about this thing called "HIKV," don't worry - you have probably already been infected. Although there is no known cure, you will learn to live (and possibly thrive) with it. Occasional DOTD supplements can help ease the symptoms. Enjoy. :D

Jose I'm looking at the 18 inch AK already.
 
I received the AK 15 this afternoon, a very strong knife to say the least. I have been thinking of getting an 18 inch AK to keep it company.
What a grand knife.

Good Service. Mailman made a special trip to my door:cool:.

Question for you, is there a dictionary of what the various symbols stand for, The Flower with the Sun above it? I looked around the HI site FAQ and such but came up blank.

There have been a couple of threads about it...I know Norm or one of the others know exactly where it is.

Be warned in advance though...while the symbols for HI stay the same, the kamis sometimes swap symbols. I think they do it on days when they drink too much tea.
 
H2OCutter welcome, I hope you enjoy your new khukuri. I think you bought the right one. I use my 15" most of the time. It may not be my very favorite but it is very handy and does the job. :)
