Welcome Back!

Not much has changed here while you were gone.
The oldtimers pop in and out like in that whack the weasel game and we've gained a few more people more noobly than myself. All in All just the usual stuff.
Except for the fact that H.I had to buy a generator for the shop to keep production going since the power in most of Nepal is off for 16 hours a day. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=636523
The Kami's now have new tools so everyone is hoping to see some great stuff coming in the future.

Get Busy You've got a lot of reading to do none the less.

Recent stuff:

Yvsa is considering another surgery.

Mamav dun got Hitched.

Hi, "JR"; I'm one of the "noobs" that Karda mentions. I presently own an M43 and several other items, after coming on board about 9 months(?) ago. Here's the other news:

- Last year, a few of us put together a massive, "Care package" of supplies for the kamis, after materials started to run a little lean. One or two of us are still sending stuff in, from time to time. (Thread name: Kamis need some supplies)

- There's been some turnover at the shop. Get and Sher (the tiger) have left, at least for the time being, for work outside the country. However, a promising newcomer, also called Sher (we just say "Young Sher"), has arrived in the meantime.

- A ton of new items have been introduced, or at least experimented with, including the Amar Singh Thapa khukuri and the Hauswehr, among many others. So many, in fact, that with the aid of other Forumites, I've had to put together a thread to contain the massive number of items that aren't actually on the site. (Thread title: "The Missing Pages in the HI Catalog.")

Also, someone here just welcomed a grandchild, ShadowChaser's son just survived a major car wreck, and a chakram is under discussion.

Welcome back, Justright

You already have the HI Chop-Off Blade (HI-COB): an 18" AK.

And it isn't so much a matter of my having HIKV, as all but one of my blades were gifts. It's my being a carrier, the Typhoid Mary of khukuris: Dad now owns a carved-handled, 6" Kumar Karda, and Mom may be willing to get a khuk as a gift for someone. Worse still, Dad's occasionally sending some "extra" pieces of wood to HI from his woodworking shop.

Last i knew, about Sept 2009, Mr. Sisco was closing the Sarki Shop due to health problems, which is a shame because he did some great work. The shop website is down, so i'm assuming he's still closed. I see him lurk here every once in awhile though. :(

Hey Justright, Welcome back! I too am an old-timer that made a return last year after many many years of being away.

BTW, if you're talking about the Sarki Shop, from what I understand, the shop closed down some months ago, which is a real shame as I was looking forward to send some business his way.
