Helluva way to spend my B-day...

Greetings all, today is my birthday but wasn't a particularly happy one... my 5 yr old is spending the night in the hospital. Yet another victim of the G.I. viruses that seem to be running rampant everywhere. Today was to be her last day of school, complete with the 7pm musical that she was working so hard for. Instead spent the day in the hospital getting IV fluids, puking and having diarrhea. Hopefully she (and my wife who is staying the night with her) will be home tomorrow. In the meantime, we are hoping that our 11 mo. old daughter won't get the same thing.
And of course, Mondays are usually no picnic at a vet clinic and today was no exception. We've had about 4 or 5 dog fights in about as many days... this morning I had to patch back together a stupid little sh!t-zoo that decided to take on a pit-bull. Yet another good reason to neuter your male dogs! Had two separate incidents of pit-bulls killing another dog last week too. One of them was euthanized, the other is owned by a scum-bag wigger who was asking if he could "cut out" the microchip that was implanted the previous time his dog attacked another dog and bit a person in the process. He wanted to hide the dog from the cops! :eek: Whatta douche-bag!
Oh well, gotta wait a day or two for my blueberry pie. (can't stand b-day cake)
 
Happy Birthday Mongo. Sorry to hear it sucked. That's really sad about your daughter. Hopefully the rest of the family will stay well and your little girl will get well quickly.

Happy birthday Mongo. Sorry to hear about your daughter's illness. Hope she gets better soon, and that the viruses are no longer contagious.

BTW- will you be able to stop poodle-prodding for a few days and come to Blade? If so, we can have a belated birthday drink......

Happy birthday Mongo, I hope your daughter feels better. Sometimes I wish I would've stayed on track to become a vet, and sometimes after reading stories like the one above, I don't wish for it so much.
 
One helluva tough day man. My advice is to try and forget about the scumbags at work. I'm sure you've got enough on your mind with your daughter.

I hope she gets to feeling better soon, and I hope you can still celebrate a great belated B-day, maybe make it a combination daddys B-day/ daughters outta the hospital occassion? :D

Congratulations on the birthday, even if it wasn't a happy one. Perhaps when you get out of the down time you all will have a chance to celebrate.
 
Wow- Sorry to hear that. Hope your daughter is on the mend & that everybody stays healthy. Enjoy a little belated b-day pie for yourself & take good care.

Thanks all, the kiddo is out of the hospital... no longer vomiting and able to eat. However farting still brings some trepidation. I figure she'll be back to normal in another day or two. It was funny, she was asking for cheetos and chocolate cookies while she was in the hospital... two things she never usually eats. So, I of course bought them today. Got my blueberry pie from Bakers square too!
It was kinda tough at the hospital, there was at least 4 other families with vomiting/diarrhea kids there at the same time. One family had waited for FIVE days of it! Poor kid looked like death warmed over. Needless to say, they rushed him right in. Another was a little one, about 8 months old. Tough stuff seeing the little ones sick.

I bet that the term, "sleep tight" has taken on a whole new dimension. :D

As a father of a 2 yr old and a 5 month old, I can sympathize. I had my little boy in the hospital with a 105 fever... scared the devil outta me! :eek:
