I got this helmet

I keep seeing a high school kid around here that wears a helmet like that all the time with a set of goggles mounted on it. Odd, but honestly, I rather like the look.

I need to get a pirate hat, with an eye patch. Then we can go out together and get the ladies.

In the mid 60's,when I rode motorcycles, they passed the first helmet laws. Many of us just went down to the surplus store and got old military helmets. I had a leather WWI pilots helmet and goggles that I wore before they set a standard rating the helmets had to adhere to. Don't know if I still have any photos of me back then, but I may have to take a walk down memory lane and get out the old albums.

Anyway, it looks nice on you ,Sam.

Stacy, those really were amazing times. I would absolutely love to see any photos if you have them. These days, I'm pretty OK going around town as it's a small town and things are pretty relaxed.

Burton, YOU BET!

I recently got a Pro-Tec helmet with light mounts on the sides. I'm clumsy enough when I get on a ladder these days I will wear it. Plus, it's pretty useful with the rails on the sides w/Surefires mounted in case the zombies come, or, more likely I loose my car keys in the grass at night.

Good Look with yours! Looks like a US steel pot helmet from the 60's, but not a pro on those things.

Ohen those are nice helmets, now you got me thinking to Tig on a little picatinny rail lol. This one's a surplus Israeli Defense Force M1, in great shape. The vintage WW2 M1's are up there around 400$, I'd feel bad wearing one of those out and around but this one was 40$.

For some class you should get an Italian Bersaglieri helmet . The modern one is a proper helmet with camo cover but with traditional plume of black feathers. It's one of the very few modern helmets that has any decoration.

Here's what they look like !

I have a Vietnam era pot helm (with some sort of composite liner and suspension) that I painted black and lettered with E5I50 (from the name of the spooky instrumental on Black Sabbath's "Mob Rules" album) back in '82 or '83 . On the night of my 18th birthday we dressed the drunks up and my friend Bruce was wearing the helmet when we went out to put a real estate sign in my English teacher's lawn, my friend Rob decided to try breaking empty beer bottles over Bruce's head, that is when we found that trying to break a bottle on a rounded surface does not work (the bottle didn't break until Rob dropped it in the street) I think I replced the suspension with something a little more comfortable at some point when I was using it as a prop for shows

Here's a picture of my helmets! :D
Had an old air compressor that was ready for the junk pile. One day I was looking at the tank and figured why not! The saw blade parts are cut offs from a 52" diameter blade I got from a lumber mill. Way back then I made all my knives out of the saw blade steel.
Maybe someday I'll get around to finishing the helmets, lol!
