My Dad gave me this old strop (1881) that he found in a large antique trunk case he bought at an auction. I'll post some pics tomorrow for it.. It appears to be in absolutely excellent working condition stil in the original cover, and I am wondering if anyone can coach me on what type of compound I should use on it, or if there is any other info you can tell me about it.
I'm searching the web, and may be inept, but am having difficulty in finding one exactly like it, or still in this, apparently very usable condition.
Dad said it was in the back of one of the many compartments, and just fell out when he and Mom were checking out the contents..quite a find to me.
Thanks as always for your help.
BTW, I can't tell if it is No 201 or 291..the middle number on the case is worn..
Mods,
Sorry if I'm in the wrong place for this, would appreciate it if this would be better directed to another portion of the forum.
