HELP......420J1 as a liner...is that good?

I was recently told that 420J2 was a POS, & I am not in the market to work with that. So I left the idea of using that as a blade steel.

But does that mean it is also bad to use 420J1 as a liner material? I will have one piece liners, no spot welding on bolsters.

I don't want to use anything that others will frown upon on.
