Hello all. First time ever posting in this section. I've recently re-handled a few of my knives using micarta and G10 scales. So far I'm proud of my first time results. I'd like to take it a step further and attempt to actually make the scales that I use. I'm sure there is a lot that goes into it, but I'd like to jump right in, and try it.

I'd like to know what type of epoxy resin is best for laminating different materials and where I can find it. I'm looking for a range... the good expensive stuff, right on down to the cheap beginner stuff (if there is such a thing). My father used to be a sculptor and frequently worked with fiberglass. He guessed at what I should be using, but admitted it had been so long since he bought any.

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. (I briefly scanned the stickies with no luck)

and there have been several spellings of it like
"mycarta" so you can search on those tutorials

Cheap ones - probably easily available.

The good expensive stuff would be West systems epoxy and other long life marine applications
