The laredo sheath decided to scratch the knife deeply. I looked around to try and find a way to get rid of these scratches without messing up the polish, but there was no way to do it. I decideed to take some sandpaper to it thinking it would be a little sanding and it would be find, but after I was done you could easily see the sanding marks/ sanding scratches. Does anybody have a way to remove them?

Really wish cold steel would quit making plastic sheaths with glass in them. You need really fine sandpaper, wet dry at 800 and then 1200 grit, grab some united metal glo to finish polishing. Don't cut yourself and realize you'll probably have to resharpen the blade. Probably will take over an hour to completely restore it. What grit sandpaper did you take to it?

It's just a matter of sanding with increasingly finer git paper. The finer the grit, the finer the finish (less visible scratches).

If you go to just about any auto parts store, they should have a variety of sand paper going all the way up to 2000 grit. 2000 grit is almost a polishing paper and will produce a mirror-like finish. I use it all the time when I want/need a really smooth surface on a piece of steel.

And when you sand, just use light pressure, and be patient. You don't want to press hard, and you can't rush it. It's the grit that does the sanding, pressing hard just wears the paper out faster.
