Hi people, it's been a long time I came here. But i'm stuck on something and thought this is the best place to ask.

I want to buy a new knife. For average using, like camping, hiking,...
I don't know or I need to go for a fixed blade or a folder? I was thinking of a ESEE izula, but that knife needs a lot of treat ( like oiling). And good folders I don't really know. I'm more into the tactical looking folders like fox rescue knife or folders like leatherman.
So please give me some advice :)

The Izula's a great knife..people love it. It doesn't need a lot of care. It's coated so it doesn't need to be oiled. If it wasn't coated, all you would have to do is wipe it off when you are done using it, put a little oil or wax on it when you are not using it, and don't store it in the sheath...and it would be fine. Carbon steel really doesn't involve work.

Pick up that and a Victorinox SAK like the Farmer for camping and hiking...and you are set.

A few for you to check out form less expensive to more expensive. Enlan el o1 , Enlan el 02 , RAT1 , Kershaw junkyard dog, ZT 0560 .Strider

'Capo pretty much covered the folders.

Any fixed blade by Ontario, ESEE (the makers of your Izula), or some offerings from Cold Steel would fit your bill.

ESee 4 or the becker 14 eskabar, which you can get scales for too if you want.
