why does the BG-42 BLADE of CUSTOM 110 have no BOS symbol?

Does all of the BG42 of custom 110 have no bos symbol?

thanks

I believe that the BG-42 blades were all left over from years ago, before they used the BOS stamp, or before Paul Bos did their heat treat? I know they are older blades though!

Maybe that one never received a heat treat...just kidding!Probably the blades are before Paul Bos did the heat treat for Buck.

I'm gonna go with they forgot,Paul Bos has done their heat treating for a long time, longer than they've made bg-42 steel an option i'd bet..

Paul Bos has been the HT czar at Buck since the late 70s. He did the HT.
None of the premium blades had the Bos stamp in late 90s or early 2000 or 2001. ATS-34 110 blades was also side stamped like BG42. I kind of like the side stamp...but the Bos Stamp is nice too.

I'm not sure of the year the Bos stamp got going in earnest but I suspect it was with the use of S30V at Buck (and switch back to 154cm). And that would likely be the Cabela's contract for AG110s!! But I'm just giving a guess here. I'd say 2003 or 2004 on the Bos Stamp.

...None of my 110's, 112's or 532's with BG-42 have the BOS stamp...:)...Great steel and you know that, even without the stamp, Paul definitely had his hand in HT'n all of 'em...

I kinda like mine without the BOS stamp.

No need for it as he treats everything anyway.
