Help adjusting my PM2? Or do DLC blades generally have a "rougher" feeling?

I've had a DLC/Digi PM2 for a few months and it seems like the opening/closing has felt a little rough to open. This is my only DLC blade and opening/closing feels like the blade is like very very fine sandpaper against the washers. I've tweaked the pivot screws and now the blade opens fairly easily with barely noticeable blade play, but when you open or close the blade, you can hear a very faint (smooth) 'sanding' sound.
Is this because my knife has grimed up or do all DLC blades have this characteristic to them? I am getting ready to purchase a Millie and i'm deciding between Satin or DLC. If satin does in fact open smoother then I will opt for that instead.
Thanks for any responses

I've had my DLC camo PM2 for about a week now and my pivot is tight as well. This is my first DLC. My blade def doesn't flick open as fast as you see in some of the YouTube videos or my other spydercos. However I don't feel any sand paper like feeling/sound as you described. I don't mlnd the tightness though since Ive heard they loosen up over time. It may very well be gunked up. Try giving it a good cleaning and oiling.

Rinse it with hot water blow dry and add a drop of your favorite knife lube and you should be good to go.

I had the same knife and it was tight. I traded it and hadn't really planned on getting another, I'm just not into knives that size for EDC. I ended getting another in a trade I couldn't pass up. It is the satin blade and it is a world of difference, the design had grown on me now.

That should do the trick. Might help to loosen the pivot a bit first to really get in there.

DLC blades, in my experience, do have a bit of a different feel than their satin/stonewash counterparts. Considering that the detent ball is traveling against the harder DLC rather than the smooth steel, their is a slightly rougher action. Rougher isn't quite the right term, though, for it is a consistent feeling still. Over time, a smoother track should wear into the DLC where the detent travels. To speed this up, it may help to add some lubricant, or to simply leave it dry and work it a bunch.

Yup. Every DLC blade I have is rougher feeling than uncoated.

I also agree. Let it break in over time, those knives usually open up fast enough with some practice. If you need supreme opening speed, get an automatic.

I've had the DLC version and still do have the satin. Both opened the same. Then again they were both used so maybe it takes a little time for the DLC to break in...
