I'm an old geezer, so be gentle with me! This was probably covered in the "Computer 101" class, but I must have skipped school that day. ;)

Anyway, when I'm looking at a knife on a website, and I want to start a thread here on BladeForums and refer to, or post, that particular knife/page on my thread ..... HOW DO I DO THAT? I understand the "attachment" link here (the paperclip), and am able to grab pics off my laptop, but how the heck do I "Upload File from a URL" or whatever it's called without writing down all the "http" stuff and entering it manually?

(I have an Apple MacBook if that makes any difference).

I'm guessing this is dirt simple, but I've just never done it.

Thanks for any help, and sorry for the poorly worded question.

Not a mac user but I don't think it's different.

Left click on the URL you want to copy.

The entire URL should turn blue/be highlighted.

Right click on the URL you want to copy, you should get a drop down list of choices, my choices are: undo, cut, copy, paste, delete, select all.

Select "Copy".

When you reply to a thread, you will a world icon under the white smiley face that says "insert link" on the tool tip, click on the world icon button. A pop up tab will say "please enter the url of your link" and have "http:// " already written in the box and the text should be blue/highlighted. Hit the "delete" button which should be to upper right of your "return/enter" key to remove the "http://". You can also remove it by clicking the cursor up to it and backspacing to remove it. Put your cursor in the pop up tab and hit "paste". The entire URL that you copied should be there.

Hit Ok when done.

ps mods, not deal spotting, just an example.

Go to the page you want to link to.
Double-click in the URL field at the top of the browser to highlight the entire URL.
Press Option-C to copy the highlighted test.
Go to the page you want to type your message in.
Type your message.
Press Option-V to paste the URL into your message.
Click the Post button to post your message.

Some good info there on shortucts you can do by keyboard. Also now that macs have right click, after highlighting text by click/holding and dragging the cursor across text you can right click once you have selected the text and released the left click, which brings up a menu with a few options, cut will copy uneditable text, or remove editable text, copy copys any text, and paste will paste what's been most recently copied or cut.
