I went to a cuttlery today and i asked for a military model. He showed it to me. it was a plain edge in CPM440V. But on the blade the famous word "MILITARY" was engraved in black and in a kind of futuristic police...
Is there a real difference or is it just question of style?
Thanks

I think it is the more recent model. This one has "Military" etched on the blade, which the older model did not. The steel is the same, but the new liner lock is supposedly more secure.
But like I said, I'm not sure, so try running a search on the forums and look for new military/old military discussions...

From what I know of their history, if it's got big, black letters on the blade saying "MILITARY" with the horizontal line missing from the "A" then it's the most current version in their evolution. When I compare mine like this to my older one, the pivot smoothness or "action" does seem a bit better on the new style but they're both great. I really don't think that you will find a "bad" Millie. Buy the one you like the looks of best and with the blade steel you prefer. The older ones used ATS-34.

You are looking at the latest generation Military.

CPM440V has different heat treat (reduce brittleness)
eccentric pivot pin and some other stuff I can't remember. Sal posted in extensive detail on this in the Spyderco forum (spyderco website).

Buy with confidence, it is a great knife.

Yes, the Military is a great knife. Probably my all time favorite.
